Brief Bio

I’m an Alabama native from Pleasant Grove and have been involved in sports and fitness my entire life. I remember being the young age of 6 and trying to keep up with my dad doing curls in our basement. During high school, I was competitive in soccer, playing on club teams and also ran track and field and fell in love with sprinting my junior and senior years. I tore my left ACL in 2009 during a soccer game and after that I became more motivated than ever to become the best athlete that I could be. During this time, I found a passion for weight training (as I was involved in physical therapy) and loved the challenges that came with getting stronger and recovering from my injury. I began doing a ton of exercise science research on my own and realized that I wanted to become a personal trainer and study this field more in depth. I became certified in May 2013 and also transferred to UAB from Jeff State in this time, to pursue a B.S. degree in Kinesiology. I graduated with my B.S. in 2015 and will be graduating with my M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology in April 2017. I thoroughly enjoy learning in depth on all fitness related subjects so that I can share the knowledge with my clients and make sure that I can give them the most optimal and effective programming suitable for their unique fitness goals. I love to work with all age groups and walks of life and have definitely had a taste of everything in my training career thus far, as I have worked with around 200 different individuals. I absolutely love what I do and have confidence in my abilities to get a person to achieve their ultimate goals. Helping people through fitness has given me a new meaning and purpose. I feel that this is something I was meant to do and I’m thankful every day that I have the blessing of being able to practice my passion. 


Personal Mission Statement

This quote from Rudy (one of my all time favorite movies) basically sums up my outlook on life in general: “Sometimes a winner is a dreamer who just wont quit.” I feel life is about going for what makes your heart and spirit the most full and alive. We all have a purpose and dreams we wish to pursue. You only live once on this earth, so never give up and make the most of it.
