Brief Bio

I was raised in Pelham, Alabama. Growing up I played about every sport possible; I did baseball, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and more. By the time I got to high school I had narrowed my interest down a little and focused on soccer and wrestling, with one year of cross country to keep it interesting. My college journey has been an interesting one. Spending three semesters at Troy University before I went to Southeastern Bible College, where I met my wife of two years. After three semesters, Southeastern closed down and none of my credits transferred to Montevallo. Although this put me behind, it gave me the opportunity to examine where my passion truly lies.

This led me to pursue where I currently am, pursuing a degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science. Since I’ve left the realm of competitive sports I’ve been more interested in personal achievement in outdoor pursuits such as climbing and hiking. Achieving my goals in the outdoors and being ready to go for the odd 30-mile bike ride with friends or half-Marathon with the wife keeps my training interesting; always striving to make sure I’m not only getting stronger but moving better.

Reading numerous books and research articles, some for classes but most on my own and listening to hundreds of hours of podcasts provides me a wealth of information to apply to myself and others to make sure I never stop moving toward my goals.

I love the process of challenging myself and want to continue to push my limits physically but my latest challenge is helping others push their limits. I’ve seen the benefits of exercise, not only on the body but also on the mind and soul and I want others to reap those benefits too.

Personal Mission Statement

“Self Efficacy” is a fancy trainer word that means the belief in ones self to enact change in ones life. This is what I strive to instill in all of my clients. Whatever shape you’re in right now, you are exactly where you need to be in order to take the first steps to a healthier version of yourself. If you don’t yet believe you can achieve the goals you have set before you, don’t worry, you will. For now, I’ll believe in you enough for the both of us.
