I am originally from northern Utah and recently moved to Alabama for my husband to start a DMD/PhD program at UAB. We just had our first baby girl, and our whole world definitely revolves around her! I have always loved being active, and it is part of my everyday lifestyle. I love playing tennis, going on runs and walks, hiking with my family, working in my yard, and anything else I can do to get moving and stay outside! My love for being active led me to pursue a degree in Human Movement Science. Upon completion of my bachelor’s degree, I realized I wanted to do more to help others stay active as well and went on to complete a master’s degree in Fitness Promotion. I have the opportunity to share my knowledge from my education and training experience with others through the monthly HomeFit blogs. Topics range from special population exercise guidelines to the benefits of yoga to hiking safety.
Personal Mission Statement
I believe in making exercise not something we have to check off each week but something that is part of our everyday lifestyle. My blog articles are tailored to help others learn how to implement physical activity into their own lives and how to do so safely. There are so many ways to exercise, and it is my goal to introduce as many ways as possible to as many populations as I can. Hopefully my readers will learn that they can exercise and have fun while doing it!
