Growing up an athlete I could never really even touch my toes. I fell into the common misconception that "I can't do yoga because i'm not flexible". In 2013 I walked into my first yoga class looking for a workout. I quickly found so much more within this practice and a year later began my 200hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Training. I have since been continuing my education at the Asheville Yoga Center with over 300 more hours of training.
When I began my practice it was very fast paced and strength based. After a few years of teaching and realizing the benefits yoga can have mentally I have shifted to slower more alignment and stretching based yoga. My specialty is Yin Yoga which is the softer side of yoga. It is long held passive stretches to target deep tissues and help maintain and gain range of motion.
I am a native Floridian and have a love for the water. So I decided to combine my desire to be on the water and yoga by getting my Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga certification in Key West (it's a tough job but someone's gotta do it). In 2015 I began teaching SUP Yoga here in Nashville, TN on Old Hickory Lake. My little dream has since turned into a physical Paddleboard Shack with tons of classes and fun in Gallatin, Tn.
Personal Mission Statement
I want you to walk away from a class with me, whether it's on land or water, feeling empowered by gaining a little more understanding of this one body we are given and how it works.
