My fitness journey began at a young age. I, as a child, had always been active. I danced, played soccer and basketball. I was a gymnast and a cheerleader. After high school, like a lot of people, picked up some bad habits. I started smoking and my best form of activity was line dancing on Friday nights. I quit smoking after I was married and soon was pregnant with my first child. I gained over 80 pounds. Shortly after my son was born, I decided I could stay like this, or make a lifestyle change. I choose to watch what I was eating and started exercising again. I would for the next few years exercise on and off as well as try out the newest diet fad.
In 2008, I decided I wanted to run the Cooper River Bridge Run In Charleston, SC. This was a race my father and my husband had run and before we moved I wanted to do one 10K. I hated it! The entire time I was miserable then I crossed the finish line. While I hated running, I loved finishing. I loved that I had set a goal and achieved it. A 10k turned into several half marathons, the half marathons turned into marathon. The marathons lead to triathlons. On my philosophy of “how hard can it be”, I signed up for my first 70.3 triathlon. A new love was born. During this time I decided to become a personal trainer and Spin instructor. I loved Spin and cycling. After completing four 70.3 triathlons, I signed up for a full Ironman in May of 2015. Shortly into training for the race, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to drop out of the race for treatment. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. I went from being in the best shape of my life to sitting in a chair for 5 months. One year after being cleared to exercise again, I crossed the finish line in the Florida Ironman.
I love helping people achieve what they believe that can not. I love when they crush their goals. In an ever changing fitness industry, I bring the simple philosophy of common sense training. There are not any quick fixes but with hard work, dedication, and commitment there isn't anything that can not be achieved. I am here to help with all of those aspects.

Life is too short to sit on the sidelines and watch! Participate in your life! I am here to help reach the goals you want in life. I do this by evaluating your current physical state and implementing exercises first to address any imbalances. From there, we work together to establish your goals and what you would like to achieve. It is my job to develop a program tailored to you and what you want to accomplish. It could be to lose weight, finish a 5k, come back to exercise from an injury. It is my personal mission to help you be the best you want to be!
