Daniel Warren, NSCA-CPT
Brief bio: I was born and raised in Fultondale, Alabama and was homeschooled for my entire pre-college education. I am now a senior at UAB, seeking a degree in Criminal Justice. I have long had a passion for working out, originally involving power lifting and now more bodyweight-performance based exercises.
My interest in exercise comes from my desire to be the best that I am capable of being. I want to be able to do what many cannot. For a long time, I compared my performance to others and did not see how I could reach their level. Many months ago, I shifted my focus from competing with others to competing with myself. Each workout is a chance to outdo my past performance and I have found that this philosophical shift has led to drastic improvement in my performance and confidence. In the same way, I think it is important to motivate clients by recording their progress and showing them their improving personal bests. I was approached by Cody (HomeFit President) in the Spring of 2013 after he noticed my passion for fitness and natural ability to recognize the full capabilities of others. I received my certification through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), which solidified my confidence as a successful trainer. My main area of interest is in extreme performance training, meeting competitive military and law enforcement benchmarks, in addition to power lifting. However, I am aware that a wide variety of training methodologies can fit various populations, and I make sure to use the appropriate training methods that are most suiting for my clients. Personal Mission Statement: Exercise impacts every aspect of life; improving quality of life through cognitive function and physical capability, as well as emotional well-being. I strive to make an impact in my clients' lives, whether they want daily functionality or high-stress performance capability. |
