What to Do When You've Hit a Fitness Plateau

Hitting a plateau can be frustrating, whether you're stuck in a weight loss rut or just can't seem to motivate yourself to work out. We've come up with a few creative ways to get your groove back and push through your health plateau.

1. Hire a trainer

We'd be remiss if we didn't mention this, but a personal trainer's job is to make sure that you (and only you) are doing workouts correctly and pushing yourself to a challenging, yet safe, limit. Trainers are great for keeping you motivated and can work all of your muscles with different moves than you'd be able to do on your own.

The best part? Our trainers will come right to your house at your convenience, so there's no excuse for you to skip out on your workout. Schedule your first session for free!

2. Take a look at your nutrition

Foods labeled "low fat" or "low calorie" doesn't always equal "healthy". When in doubt, shop on the perimeter of the supermarket and stock up on lots of fresh produce, lean cuts of meat, healthy whole grains, and dairy. If you're concerned with your diet or want to eat more healthfully, set up a time to speak with a nutritionist

3. Challenge different muscles

Sometimes, even when you're eating well and working out, your body can hit a plateau. And that's ok! Rethink your fitness routine and challenge your body to a new workout. Walk the dog, hit the trail for a hike, try a barre class, or sign up for a yoga session with one of our certified instructors. Sometimes, all it takes to break through a plateau is challenging different muscle groups or sneaking in some unsuspecting extra cardio.
